Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using HydraHound. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
About HydraHound
HydraHound is a personal hydration reminder app for iOS, developed and published by Hankin Digital. The app delivers scheduled and escalating notifications to encourage you to drink water throughout the day.
HydraHound is provided as a consumer wellness tool only. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not a substitute for professional healthcare guidance.
Not a Medical Device
The reminders, suggested drink quantities, and any guidance provided by the app are general wellness prompts only. They are not tailored to your individual medical needs, health conditions, or medications.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your fluid intake, especially if you have a medical condition that affects hydration (such as kidney disease, heart failure, or diabetes).
Overhydration (hyponatraemia) can be dangerous. Do not drink water in excess of your body's needs. HydraHound accepts no liability for any harm arising from following the app's reminders.
Subscription
HydraHound requires an active subscription to use. Subscriptions are offered on a yearly basis and include a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple and your Apple ID.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can cancel at any time by going to your iCloud Subscriptions in Apple Settings.
- HydraHound never sees or stores your payment details.
Pricing is displayed at the point of purchase and may vary by region. Current pricing: £9.99 per year (after the 3-day free trial).
Free Trial
New subscribers are eligible for a 3-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically renew at the standard annual rate.
Free trial availability is subject to Apple's eligibility rules. Hankin Digital has no control over whether a free trial is offered to a specific Apple ID.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be made directly through Apple by visiting reportaproblem.apple.com. Hankin Digital cannot issue refunds directly.
Your Data
HydraHound stores all personal data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes your drink logs, reminder preferences, and app settings.
We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on external servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Health Data
With your explicit permission, HydraHound can write hydration data to Apple Health. This is entirely optional. You can revoke this permission at any time in your iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Health.
HydraHound reads no data from Apple Health. We write only the drink logs you create within the app.
AI-Generated Content
HydraHound uses Apple Intelligence (on supported devices) to generate varied notification copy. All AI processing occurs entirely on-device. No notification content or personal data is sent to any external AI service.
AI-generated messages are motivational prompts only and do not constitute health advice.
Notifications
The core function of HydraHound is delivering local push notifications to your device. You must grant notification permission for the app to work as intended.
You can adjust or disable notifications at any time in your iOS Settings. Disabling notifications will prevent the app from reminding you to drink water. HydraHound accepts no liability for missed reminders caused by disabled notifications.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use HydraHound only for its intended personal wellness purpose. You must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's source code
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its content
Intellectual Property
HydraHound, its name, logo, and all associated content are owned by Hankin Digital. All rights are reserved. The app is licensed to you for personal use only — ownership is not transferred by your subscription or purchase.
Disclaimer of Warranties
HydraHound is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hankin Digital disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hankin Digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use HydraHound.
In particular, Hankin Digital accepts no liability for any health outcomes — positive or negative — that result from following the app's reminders or suggested drink quantities.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
For material changes, we will endeavour to provide notice within the app.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
